I loved that instantly Patrica was lusting after a vampire, I admit, at fist I too was lusting after this vampire but then he turned out to be racist and maybe a little bit of a pedo. Overall it kept me on edge and there was parts that were truly disgustingly creepy. I enjoyed it. I saw before I started reviews saying that it was racist and misogynistic but I have come to learn that book readers often have low reading comprehension. WILD! While I enjoyed one of his other books more this was still a fun rad. I read it in a book club with my friends and the book club inception of being a book club reading a book about a book club was top notch. On a final note Carter was the worst human and I think the main point of this story is men are the real monsters.

This is the third book I’ve read by him and while it isn’t my favorite, I still had a great time reading it! The women are written really well and each have their own distinct personalities, the plot is exciting, the pacing is quick but easy to keep up with, and James Harris is so fun to hate.

This book isn’t as gory as his others but it still has his unique touch that makes your heart beat out of your chest and makes you squirm in your seat, even when you’re reading while it’s still light out.
