This book was an interesting conundrum. I loved the writing and I loved the concept of the story but I couldn’t stand the characters, that is Eli and Victor. Both are spoiled brats that didn’t get enough positive attention when they were younger and had the ego of an American politician. The usual rich kid with no problems so he has to think life is the problem. Their intelligence in academia makes them think they are smarter in life than everyone else.
Victors saving grace was that he was not Eli. He was petty and devious and I ended up respecting him but mostly I hated him less because Eli was so awful. He was the worst type of crazy, the type that hind behind religion and makes up rules for things in the world that don’t apply to him.
Now Mitch and Sydney were great I love both of their characters. They were both loyal smart and were a found family which I love.
Though I couldn’t stand Eli and had a distaste for Victor the ending was perfectly plotted and planned and it left me almost laughing with how perfectly it was all pulled off, and how petty Victor truly is. My only thing was I wished Eli died.
