Five stars isn’t enough for miss Evelyn Hugo. It’s days later and all I am thinking about is Evelyn Hugo. From the start the book sucks you in and instantly you fall in love with Evelyn. She is raw, sensual, and knows every last drop of her worth. She is everything a lot of people inspire to be and even through the words you can feel her raw star magnetism. She is bold and brave and refuses to live by anyone else’s terms except her own. I understood her great love and I respected it, they saw each other for who they really were and loved each other despite the flaws; but Evelyn friendship with Harry was the cement in this book. He saw Evelyn for all her good and her bad and loved her unconditionally. Their devotion and connection to each other carried the story to something truly great. I was lost in old Hollywood with Evelyn and I was sad to leave it when the book ended. Hands down one of the best books I have ever read.

Evelyn Hugo is THE ultimate Bad Bitch.
It’s been almost a week and I’m just now able to write this review. I decided to read this book bc I kept seeing it get mentioned on book twitter; I saw nothing but praise so I had EXTREMELY high hopes for this one. And let me tell you, this book exceeded my expectations! It’s very cinematic in its writing and you won’t be able to put it down bc it sucks you in from first page. Each character is very well thought out and they are all so different from one another, it was easy to follow the timeline even though it isn’t very linear.
This book is gorgeous, inspiring, and incredibly heart wrenching. It has become one of my favorite books of all time and if I could read it again for the first time, I would.
